New items and events this season:

Tea Service:
    Late summer to early fall we will be serving tea! We will have cafe style tables for sitting and sipping hot and iced teas from around the world. Our hope is to create a space where our customers can stay a while, relax and enjoy the surroundings. There will be seating inside and out. What a great way to enjoy the beautiful gardens and all of Peter’s care and hard work.

May Day Flowers:
    Friendship is such an important part of Viva la Cottage’s philosophy, and we wanted to celebrate it in a new and special way. While we have some of the best gift giving items in the county, we wanted to do something over the top and have a ball doing it. We were delivering door knob bouqets around town at 5:00 in the morning and had a bad case of giggles at almost every door.

    If you missed this last year, let me fill you in. It is an old tradition that on May 1st, you hang a bouquet of flowers on a loved one’s front door at the crack of dawn. Knock and run, and if they catch you, you might or might not get a kiss! Well we decided to make it our own by making lovely little bouquets, in special containers that you would send to a dear friend or special someone. We deliver them very early morning or you pick them up yourself to deliver. It was so much fun we decided to do it every year and hope that the tradition keeps on.

Garden Party:
    Scheduled for some time in July, come and enjoy a special event with entertainment and good food (think Door County strawberries in July!). The gardens will be stunning and it’s a great time for us to socialize with our customers in a way that don’t usuallly get to during the season.

Peninsula Arts Association Fashion Show:
    Date is tentative, but likely in July. See our county’s premiere fashion artists! Help support the PAA which gives grants to local artists, helping to further their work.

    We are so excited about the coming year and have left out a few things to surprise you when you come to see us! Hope you are all happy and well, and we can’t wait to see our old friends and customers this season, as well as making new ones.
